广外的老师和同学们、广外广大英语爱好者们：
为了适应国家教育部倡导的大学英语教学改革的需要，满足我校培养一专双高（外语和计算机）实用性人才的战略目标要求，我校英语教育学院大学英语学习支持中心在仲伟合校长的亲自倡导和关怀下，决心整合校园资源，加强对校园英语角的组织和改造工作，使之成为一个形式灵活、知识性和趣味性强、知名度和影响力大的，让我校广大英语爱好者乐于积极参与学习交流的第二课堂。
4月15日（星期四）晚上7:00-9:30，我们将在南校区隧道口广场举办“广外英语角启动仪式”。届时仲伟合校长将亲临现场指导，并作重要讲话。教务处詹文都处长、团委刘志军书记、英教学院周富强院长和袁长青书记，经贸、工管、政管、信息、新闻、艺术、法学、国际等位于南校区的各学院院长或书记，以及英语教育学院部分中外教师都将参加仪式。
协助举办这个“广外英语角启动仪式”的有英教学院团委和学生会、大学的英语俱乐部和英语森林俱乐部。
启动仪式之后将有一个多小时的英语交流时间，参与交流的同学将被分成二十个小组进行专题谈论和交流。届时将有中外教师参与其中，并给予指导。欢迎广外英语爱好者抓住机会，参与交流，切莫错失良机。

An Announcement for the GDUFS English Corner
Kick-off Ceremony
April 13, 2010
Dear colleagues and dear students,
In order to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education – initiated College English Teaching Reform, and to meet the requirements of the Strategic Objective of GDUFS to cultivate versatile graduates with one major and two minors (namely, English and Computing Science), College English Learning Support Center, under Faculty of English and Education, intends to integrate the resources and talents on campus, strengthening the organization and restructuring of the English Corner activities, so as to turn the GDUFS English Corner into a brand-new second classroom with interesting, informative, better-known and more influential activities in flexible and varied ways, which appeal to the great number of English learners in our university.
A grand Kick-off Ceremony will be held in the Tunnel Square at 7:00 pm, Thursday, April 15. The new president of GDUFS Prof. Zhong Weihe will address the ceremony. Also present at the event will be Prof. Zhan Wendu, dean of the Teaching Affairs Office, Mr. Liu Zhijun, director of the Youth League, Prof. Zhou Fuqiang, dean of the Faculty of English and Education, and leaders from the other eight faculties on the south campus, as well as a number of English teachers, from home and abroad.
Co-hosting the Ceremony with College English Learning Support Center are Youth League and Students Union of the Faculty of English and Education, English Club, and E-Jungle Club.
About an hour and a half will be given for free talk after the ceremony. Students will be divided into twenty groups with a leader in each, and teachers will join in as participants and supervisors as well.
Hurry up! Come and join us! Don’t let go such an opportunity to meet people and make friends, to practice English and improve yourself.
