我院与朴次茅斯大学合作2+1国际班顺利开学
· 2003年6月，经过长期筹备，国际教育服务中心开始国际班的招生工作，中心动员全体教师利用课余时间亲自到招生大厅咨询。在全院领导和员工的支持和配合下，国际教育服务中心大多数老师放弃暑期休息，冒着酷暑，以满腔热情投入工作，取得了可喜的成绩。9月12 日，举行了隆重的开学典礼，125名朴次茅斯大学国际贸易与英语2+1国际班的学生朝气蓬勃地开始了学习生活。
· 8月16 日至21日，朴次茅斯大学语言与区域研究学院的院长 William Brierley 先生访问我院。Brierley 先生访问期间就双方合作国际贸易与英语2+1 项目与我院进行了更加深入细致的讨论，并对我院的师资、设备及管理水平给予充分的肯定。
· 9 月7日-16日，朴次茅斯大学派教师John Wrigglesworth 先生到我院进行项目协调工作。Wrigglesworth 先生访问期间与国际班的老师和学生进行了密切的探讨，并举行了多次讲座和培训。
· 9月15 日国际班新生开始上课。

· 7月28 日-8月16日陈开举副院长访问英国，受到朴次茅斯大学、利兹大学、诺丁汉绅大学等学校的亲切接待,加深双方合作。
· 8 月2 日- 14 日我院周富强院长应新南威尔士大学邀请，访问澳大利亚。
· 9 月10 日澳洲堪培拉大学工商法律信息科学学院Jules Wills 博士访问我院，就双方合作的方向及可能性与我院院长周富强进行了深入的探讨。
· 9 月16 日加拿大Seneca College 副院长Wayne Norrison 先生访问我院，受到我校副校长方凡泉、副书记许国斌的亲切接待。 我院院长周富强与Norrison 先生就职业培训领域的合作进行了实质性协商。
· 9月25日周富强院长将随广东省考试中心代表团出访欧洲。
· 8 月6日-21日我院组织首个赴英国游学团成行。
Brief of Recent Events on Foreign Affairs
in Continuing Education College with GDUFS
The Successful Opening of the 2+1 cooperation program of GDUFS with University of Portsmouth
After careful and detailed preparation, the recruitment for 2+1 cooperation BA program in International Trade and English of GDUFS with University of Portsmouth began in June 2003. The full staff of International Education Services Center joined the recruitment team to work as consultants during this summer vacation. Giving up their yearned holidays, staff in International Education Services Center achieved in recruiting 125 students for the program with the guidance, support and cooperation from other departments of Continuing Education College.
From Aug. 16th to Aug. 21st, Mr. William Brierley, Dean of the College of Language and Area Studies with University of Portsmouth, visited us and held detailed discussion on various aspects of the 2+1 program. During his stay Mr. Brierley held lectures for teachers and gave consultation to the students. Mr. Brierley expressed high opinions to the teaching staff and management in our college. From Sep. 7th to Sep. 16th, Mr. John Wrigglesworth, from University of Portsmouth, came to work on the details of the 2+1 program. Mr. Wrigglesworth gave teachers teaching 2+1programs varied trainings and lectures. Mr. Wrigglesworth’s lectures were also warmly received by 2+1 students.
Aug. 16 –Aug. 21 Mr. William Brierley, Dean of the College of Language and Area Studies with University of Portsmouth, visited GDUFS. During his visit, Mr. Brierley discussed with our college on further details of the 2+1 cooperation program. He also expressed his satisfaction on the teaching staff, teaching facilities and management abilities for the 2+1 program.
Sep. 7 –Sep. 16 Mr. John Wrigglesworth from University of Portsmouth visited GDUFS to work on the details of the 2+1 cooperation program. During his stay, Mr. Wrigglesworth held various discussions with both the teachers and the students of the 2+1 program on versatile issues. Mr. Wrigglesworth also gave trainings to teachers as well as lectures to the students.

Jul. 28 –Aug. 16 Vice-dean Remus Chen visited England and was warmly receipted by University of Portsmouth, University of Leeds and The University of Nottingham Trend. This visit greatly enhanced the cooperation of our university with the above institutions.
Aug. 2 –Aug. 14 Dean Mark Zhou visited Australia under the invitation from University of New South Wales.
Sep. 10 Dr. Jules Wills, Doctor from the School of Commerce and Law with University of Canberra, visited GDFUS and held detailed discussion with Dean Mark Zhou on the possibilities and potentials of cooperation between the two universities.
Sep. 16 Mr. Wayne Norrison, vice President of Seneca College from Canada visited GDUFS and was warmly receipted by Vice Chancellor Fang Fanquan and Vice Party Secretary Xu Guobin. Mr. Norrison and Dean Mark Zhou held detailed discussion on our perspective cooperation of professional training.
Sep. 25 Dean Mark Zhou is to visit Europe with the Representatives of Guangdong Provincial Testing Center
Aug. 6 –Aug. 21 The first Study Tour organized by College of Continuing Education set out.
