本网讯　08届奥科会期间，我校志愿者为奥科会与会代表提供优质服务。8月5日，ISAK主席马菲尔·琼斯专门致信奥科会组委会，感谢我校志愿者协助其到火车东站乘车前往香港。经查找，确认该志愿者是口岸组火车东站负责人，我校中文学院梁秋婷同学。来信原文及译文如下：

ISAK主席马菲尔·琼斯致组委会的信函原文

（8月5日）

Dear Sirs or madam：

　　Firstly, thank you for all the help you extended to me both before and during my stay at the convention.

　　Secondly, I write to tell you of the exceptional assistance that one of your volunteers gave me on the morning of Saturday August 2nd in relation to the 10am shuttle from the convention centre to the Guangzhou East Station. 

　　When we got to the station, she learnt that I had not been there before and, suspecting that (in the absence of any Mandarin on my part) I might have difficulties purchasing my ticket back to Hong Kong, she made the decision to escort me into the station itself. There, she assisted me not only to purchase the ticket, but also to change American dollars (the only currency I had) into Chinese Yuan. Once that was achieved, she escorted me to the seats outside the Customs gate to wait for my train.

　　Her help was, as I indicated above, exceptional and very much appreciated. I’m sorry that I did not have the presence of mind to make a note of her name, but a few simple questions to the volunteers who dealt with shuttle passengers that morning should be enough for you to identify her and compliment her. 

　　Even if you don’t manage that, I wanted you and your superiors to be aware of such thoughtfulness and valuable assistance.  As this came on top of your own help and the unvarying courtesy and kindness of all the staff and volunteers I encountered while at the convention, you can be assured that not only have I returned to New Zealand with a very positive impression, but also I will be telling colleagues and friends of that very positive experience.

ISAK主席马菲尔·琼斯致组委会的信函译文

（8月5日）

　　首先，我非常感谢组委会，在会议前对我们工作的协助以及在会议期间的帮助。

　　其次，我来信的另一个目的是想向组委会讲述我在8月2日上午的经历。组委会的一名志愿者在当天上午送我到广州火车东站乘坐10点前往香港的火车。当我们到达火车站时，她得悉我不了解当地情况，买票有困难，她就随我一起进入火车站协助我乘车。她不仅协助我买火车票，还帮助我兑换人民币。之后，她又陪伴我候车。

　　我认为，这些工作不属于她的职责范围。我非常感谢她的协助。很抱歉我未能记住她的名字，希望组委会能找到她和表扬她。

　　即使不能找到这名志愿者，也请组委会意识到，这种协助是非常周到和有意义的。在大会期间，我感受到也体验到组委会所有工作人员和志愿者的热情、友善、好客。回到新西兰后，我也将记住组委会友好的形象和我在广州的美好回忆。我也会把广州的美好经历告诉我的同事和朋友。
