主讲人Xuewen Chen简介：
Dr. Xuewen Chen is currently an Associate Professor (tenured) of Computer Science in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at the University of Kansas (KU). He is also the Director of Bioinformatics and Computational Life Sciences laboratory of the KU Information and Telecommunication Technology Center. Dr. Chen received his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh in 2001. He was a recipient of the NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award in 2007. Dr. Chen organized several international conferences including IEEE International Conference in Bioinformatics and Biomedicine (BIBM) 2008 (Program Chair) and 2009 (Conference Chair), and The Seventh International Conference of Machine Learning and Applications 2008 (Conference Chair). He also served on the program committees of many international conferences. Dr. Chen is also the co-editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Data Mining and Bioinformatics (SCI indexed) and an editorial member of three other journals. His research interest includes data mining, machine learning, bioinformatics, computational systems biology, and health informatics.
主讲人Luke Huan简介：
Dr. Jun (Luke) Huan has been an assistant professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department at the University of Kansas since 2006. He is an affiliated member of the KU Information and Telecommunication Technology Center (ITTC), Bioinformatics Center, Bioengineering Program, and the Center for Biostatistics and Advanced Informatics. Dr. Huan received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006. Before joining KU, he worked at the Argonne National Laboratory and GlaxoSmithKline. Dr. Huan was a recipient of the NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award in 2009. He serves on the program committees of leading international conferences including ACM SIGKDD, IEEE ICDE, ACM CIKM, IEEE ICDM, and IEEE BIBM.
